What Should I Upgrade First for Better Gaming Performance?

I'm currently using a GTX 1060 6GB and an i7 7700 CPU, along with 16GB of 3000MHz DDR4 RAM on a Gigabyte Z270 K3 gaming motherboard. My system is powered by a reputable gold 750W PSU. I mostly play games like Minecraft, Terraria, and Valorant at 1440p, but I struggle with AAA titles. I'm debating whether to upgrade my CPU to an LGA1700 motherboard with a 14600KF (around £300-350) or to buy a new GPU, like the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB or 5070 (around £400-500). I'd love some advice on whether I should focus on upgrading my CPU or GPU first, or if it's wiser to hold off on spending for now. Thanks!

Upgrading your GPU first would definitely be the way to go. You can save more later to upgrade to a better CPU and possibly switch to DDR5 RAM. I personally like AMD for CPUs, but it's really about what suits your needs best!

I'd definitely lean towards upgrading your GPU first. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB would give your games a significant performance boost at 1440p, plus it would allow you to enjoy AAA games better. Your current i7-7700 might bottleneck a 5070, so a 5060 Ti feels like a good match for your setup right now.

It really comes down to what you want out of your gaming experience. If you're aiming to play those new AAA titles, then a GPU upgrade would be the best bet. Your current CPU will hold you back if paired with a stronger GPU. But if you’re okay sticking with indie games, maybe saving up is a good idea.
