My old GPU, a GeForce GTX 1650, has stopped working today. I'm considering upgrading to the GeForce RTX 3060 with 12GB of GDDR6. I don't have much experience with computer hardware, but I've heard good things about this GPU. Is it a solid upgrade?

According to techpowerup.com, the RTX 3060 with 12GB is about 2.5 times faster than the GTX 1650 non-Super. So yes, you'll definitely notice a big improvement!

Absolutely, it's a decent upgrade! Just keep in mind the 3060 comes in both 6GB and 8GB versions; the 8GB is better. The 3060 Ti is faster overall, though.

If you can, try to grab a 3060 Ti instead! It's significantly faster and not too much more expensive. You'll really feel the difference.

It really depends on the price, but yes, upgrading to the 3060 will definitely give you a noticeable performance boost.
