I'm looking to replace the battery of my iPhone, but I have a few questions before I send it to an Apple Store in a different city since there's no store nearby. First, how long does the battery replacement usually take? Also, do I need to back up my phone before the repair? My gallery is packed with photos, and I might have to delete a bunch of them. Lastly, how quickly do new batteries typically lose capacity over time? I'm also thinking about buying an Anker plug because the one I'm using now is from a lesser-known brand.

Under normal usage, an iPhone battery should last you at least two years before needing replacement. And I’d echo the importance of backing up your device! If you go in for a walk-in replacement, it generally takes about 1 to 3 hours, so that might give you some flexibility.
Definitely back up your iPhone before you send it off! You’ll also need to disable Find My iPhone in the settings. When I had my battery replaced at the store, it took about two hours, so plan accordingly. As for new batteries, I’m not sure about the longevity part, unfortunately.
