I'm looking to make a final upgrade to my AM4 setup before the release of AM6, and I'd love to hear your advice. Currently, I have a Ryzen 5 3600X paired with an AMD X470 motherboard, 32GB of DDR4-3000 RAM, and an RX 6600XT GPU. Since I'm primarily using my PC for gaming and work, I've noticed that the only X3D processor available locally is the Ryzen 5 5500X3D for $345, while the Ryzen 9 5900XT is priced at $375 and seems like a better investment. I've seen mentions of people sourcing 5800X3Ds from China for similar prices, but I'm worried about the risks of buying something used or refurbished without guarantees. Additionally, I'm considering an upgrade to the RX 9060 XT 16GB GPU, which thankfully has reasonable pricing. I'm also aware that I'll need a new cooler. I'm eager to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

You might want to consider the 5800XT if you find it for a decent price. It offers good gaming performance and productivity capabilities, though it's a bit of a premium model. Just check your cooler situation as it can get hot!

Any regrets about spending a bit more on that one?

Honestly, a 5700X is a great choice for a final upgrade. It runs cooler and is efficient, plus it should easily handle your gaming and work tasks. I upgraded from a Ryzen 5 3600 to the 5700X and I've been all set till AM6 comes out!

If you're worried about buying from AliExpress, I'd say go for the Ryzen 9 5900XT. It's a solid upgrade and more trustworthy than the risk of a used X3D. Plus, you won't have to deal with customs issues changing your component plans.

That makes sense! The 5900XT definitely sounds like a safer bet for the long term.
