Is a GTX 1080 Ti a Good Buy in 2026?

I'm considering getting a GTX 1080 Ti or a 1080 to pair with my Ryzen 5 5600 as part of a semi-budget build. However, I'm unsure if it's worth it at this point. I also want to find a good and reliable source for a 1080 or Ti because I'm not too keen on using eBay. I mainly play CPU-intensive games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Minecraft, but I do occasionally venture into GPU-heavy titles.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend going for a 1080 Ti in 2026. It just won't hold up well against newer games due to its age, and you're likely to miss out on updates.

I'm still using my 1080 Ti and it works fine for older games, but if you're into playing the latest titles, you might end up wanting to upgrade soon.

Instead of the 1080 Ti, you might want to look at the 2070 Super or the 6600 XT. They offer better performance for roughly the same price and are more power-efficient.

Unless you find a really good deal, you should probably consider something newer, like a 3060. It would give you more bang for your buck.

Depending on the price, cards like the 4060, 5060, or 9060 XT could be a better choice for you. They handle the games you're playing well, but just keep an eye on their VRAM.
