I've been looking at a mid-range gaming PC setup and I'm curious if it's a good choice for playing games at 1440p in 2026. Here's what I've got so far:

- GPU: Galaxa GeForce RTX 4070
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700
- Storage: 1TB NVMe Gen4
- Motherboard: MSI B650M Gaming Wifi
- RAM: TFORCE DELTA DDR5 2x16
- SSD: Samsung 980
- Case: Cooler Master TD500 Mesh
- PSU: MSI A750GL

I currently have an old GTX 2060 paired with a Ryzen 5 2600 and 16GB of RAM. I'm looking to upgrade but am unsure if this setup will last a few years without running into performance issues. What do you all think?

Your setup should be decent for most modern games at 1440p, but you might not hit max settings consistently due to the GPU being a bit on the lower end compared to some newer options. For example, I have a 7800X3D and a 4070 Ti, which lets me run nearly all the latest games at 120 FPS or higher. If you don’t mind tweaking settings, your build should handle it well enough for a while. Tech advances aren't as rapid these days, so you might find it sustainable for several years. If you’re budget-friendly, consider waiting for the 5070; it could give you an edge with future updates that might not support the 40 series. Also, if you’re into MMOs, maybe look into upgrading to a 7800X3D; it can really help in crowded spaces.

Do you think switching to the 5070 and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D would be much more expensive for my budget?
