I recently restarted my iPhone 16e and completely forgot the passcode and associated Apple ID email. After attempting a factory reset using my Windows laptop, I've ended up on the 'iPhone Locked to Owner' screen. I do have the phone number linked to the Apple ID and proof of ownership, but I'm unsure what steps I should take next. Any advice?

Try resetting your Apple ID password at iforgot.apple.com. That should help you unlock it. If that doesn't work, you can submit your purchase receipt to Apple through their online portal to get the activation lock removed. Just be aware that they might need that proof to help you out.
