Help! My Micro SD Card Suddenly Shows No Images – What Can I Do?

Hey everyone,

I recently used my Oidek camera and was able to see all my photos and videos from the last two years. However, after I took the micro SD card out to transfer some pictures, I put it back in just a couple of seconds later, and now the camera only displays 'No Images Found'. When I connect the 32GB MicroSD card to my laptop, it appears corrupted. It shows that it only has a total capacity of 1.86GB, and the only visible file is a strange 32MB file named 'uupd.bin' that's dated back to 2012. I've tried using recovery software like Recuva and PhotoRec, but they find no files except for that .bin file. I'm really stressed out because I'm a university student and can't afford professional data recovery. I'm confused as to how this happened; I wasn't even taking pictures at the time. Can anyone help me figure this out or offer suggestions on how to fix it? I'd really appreciate any advice!

You might want to try using the Windows File Recovery tool. It's a free method that can sometimes help with issues like this. Just make sure to follow the instructions closely. However, I think it might also be a sign of a hardware issue since your card is only showing as 1.86GB instead of 32GB. That's not a good sign.

Thanks for the suggestion! But I think it's hardware-related. The card seems to be stuck in a sort of ghost mode and regular recovery tools are just hitting a wall. It's a bummer!

Have you tried TestDisk? It’s another free tool that might help recover lost partitions or files. A lot of people have had success with it. Just be careful to follow the steps closely—corrupt cards can be tricky!

I gave TestDisk a shot, but it still only shows that same .bin file or no files at all. It’s really frustrating!
