How can I transfer .txt files from Android to an iPhone app?

I'm switching from a Samsung Edge 7 to an iPhone 11 and I want to keep using the .txt files I've exported from my Android notepad app. I have them backed up on my Windows 10 PC, but I need to know which iPhone app can open and edit those .txt files while allowing me to eventually transfer new notes back to my Android device in the future. I'm considering using a multiplatform app like Simplenote. Is that a good choice? 1) Will it allow me to open and edit my existing .txt files? 2) Can notes created on my iPhone be transferred back to my Android? 3) What's the best way to transfer my .txt files to the iPhone without using the cloud? I've tried the Move to iOS app and LocalSend, but nothing worked. I have a cable to connect my Windows PC to the iPhone and would prefer to do a direct transfer.

Any word processor on the iPhone should be able to open plain text files, as long as you save them in the 'On My iPhone' location. This way, you're not automatically saving anything to the cloud unless you set up iCloud backup. But make sure the app you choose allows you to both edit your .txt files and create new ones! That’s key for what you want to accomplish.

I get that! Just opening them isn't enough; you need to make sure you can edit and create new .txt files as well, while also ensuring you can transfer everything back to your PC when you're ready to switch back.

You might want to consider using 3uTools for transferring your files. It’s pretty handy for managing content without relying on iTunes solely. Just a heads-up, I’ve read some users are wary because it collects some info, so if you're looking for something completely safe, try researching alternatives.

Yeah, I checked out 3uTools but wasn't comfortable with the info it gathers either. I'd love to find another free tool that doesn't compromise security.
