I've just wrapped up learning HTML and I'm currently diving into CSS. Next up is JavaScript, and my goal is to eventually do some freelance web development for local businesses to build my portfolio. I aim to start as a Front End Developer and later transition into Back End Development. I'm seeking advice on what steps to take after mastering JavaScript.

Consider taking courses on platforms like Udemy or YouTube to deepen your JavaScript knowledge, along with learning React. Start small with projects like a weather app or a to-do list. Once you're comfortable, you can look into backend technologies or hosting/deploying your projects.

I'd suggest focusing on mastering JavaScript fundamentals first. Work on a couple of small projects before jumping into React. This approach builds your portfolio, which is more appealing to potential clients than just showing course completion.

Just my opinion, but getting real-world experience is crucial. If you can launch a site with a custom domain, you can start landing paid gigs. Focus on frontend for now and delay backend studies if you can. Also, for simple features like contact forms, tools like Google Forms can save you from needing backend skills just yet.

Get involved in open source projects on GitHub! It's a great way to apply JavaScript in real scenarios alongside HTML and CSS. Check out repositories that focus on frontend work to see how others structure their projects.

Jumping straight into React might fast-track your learning if you're up for it. You can fill in JavaScript gaps as you go. There's a big community around React that can help you out. If you feel confident navigating through challenges, this could be a good path for you.
