Which Linux Distro Should I Choose: Omarchy or EndeavourOS?

I've been using EndeavourOS with KDE for a couple of weeks, but I recently removed the Linux partition for personal reasons. Now, I'm looking for a new distribution recommendation. I primarily use Linux to avoid Windows and for casual gaming, specifically Team Fortress 2. Also, I'm interested in trying out Hyperland. Should I stick with EndeavourOS or go for Omarchy?

It really depends on the setup you want and how much tweaking you're willing to do! Omarchy utilizes Hyprland, which can be a bit of a shift if you're coming from MacOS or Windows. On the other hand, EndeavourOS is closer to vanilla Arch but with some sensible defaults. I'd lean towards Endeavour if you want something more user-friendly.

If you're considering Omarchy because you heard about it from a developer's perspective (like DHH), it's definitely worth exploring it—it could meet your needs for development tasks.

Check out the distro selection page for more guidance! And remember to back up your data regularly, experiment in a VM, and make sure you understand commands before executing them!

Both distributions are based on Arch. The main factor is whether you're into KDE or if you're ready to dive into Hyprland. If you're after the best experience for your needs, think about what desktop environment you actually enjoy more.

If you're comfortable with keyboard shortcuts and tiling window management, Omarchy could be a fun challenge! But if you prefer the standard desktop experience, you might want to consider alternatives like CachyOS or even Fedora with KDE for a more traditional feel.
