Is OLED Burn-In a Big Deal for My Monitor?

I got my Gigabyte MO27Q28G monitor just three months ago and have been using it mostly for gaming. I switched the settings from normal mode to FPS mode, and I've enabled all the burn-in protection features available. My PC's default settings are from AMD, and I've ensured HDR is off. After three minutes of inactivity, the screen turns off, which seems like a good feature.

However, I've started to notice some slight burn-in effects from the League of Legends user interface, especially in gray colors. I play around 5 to 10 hours a week, mostly fast-paced games like Warframe, and now I see some marks from the LoL map and HUD. I've lowered the brightness from 80 to 60 since noticing this. There are also some darker spots on the screen, but I'm unsure of their origin. Should I be concerned about this burn-in? Is there anything I should change in my settings?

Have you tried running a Pixel Clean? That can sometimes help reduce burn-in. Just make sure you're giving your monitor a bit of a break between games, too!

I think it's okay as long as you’re using the burn-in protection features. Just keep your gaming varied and consider using lower static brightness settings. It can help minimize the risk!

Sounds like you've been playing quite a bit! I think with OLEDs, some burn-in can happen, especially with static images like those in LoL. Just keep an eye on it, and see if it gets worse. Maybe try playing different games to see if that helps.

Yeah, I was wondering if switching up the games would help. Thanks for the tip!
