Advice Needed for Building an AM5 Gaming PC

I'm putting together my first build entirely on my own! I previously had a setup with AM4, but I've been hearing a lot about how it's nearing the end of its relevance. I'm considering transitioning to AM5 for better future-proofing. I'm mostly into light gaming, like 'Oxygen Not Included' and 'Overwatch,' and I also do some art in 'Clip Studio.' I'm looking for advice on which CPU and GPU combo would work best for me among the following options:

- Ryzen 5 7500F
- Ryzen 5 7600
- Ryzen 7 7700
- GeForce 5060 Ti 16GB
- Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
- I've also heard mentions of the RTX 4060 Super.

I'm aiming for a mid-range build around $1500, keeping in mind that RAM prices are a bit challenging right now. Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Honestly, if your AM4 setup is working fine, I'd say stick with it. There's no rush to upgrade if it's not necessary. You might want to save that cash for a better GPU instead!

Exactly! Focus on the GPU rather than switching to DDR5 and a new motherboard if you don't need to.

I get the hype around going with AM5, but honestly, some of the advice you're hearing might not reflect current reality. A strong CPU on DDR4 can outperform a weaker CPU on DDR5 right now. Plus, prices of RAM have skyrocketed lately, so keep that in mind!

I totally agree! I'm using a Ryzen 7 5700X with an RX 9060 XT, and I think it's a solid setup for what you're looking to do.
