I've seen mixed reviews online about their performance and longevity, and while they seem quite similar, I want to know which one has better build quality and lasting power. I own both the Kingston KC3000 2TB and WD Black SN850X 4TB, and honestly, their performance is super similar. If the WD is cheaper for you, just go for that—it's a solid choice!
Just a heads-up, the KC3000 had some issues with older firmware that made it slow down like a hard drive! Overall, the SN850X tends to be the better option, but if you can get the WD for less, it’s definitely the smart buy. As for motherboards, it really depends on where you’re located for pricing. If you're in the USA, I suggest checking out the ASUS TUF Gaming B650-Plus Wi-Fi. It’s reasonably priced and a good choice for your build!
For longevity, the KC3000 has a higher endurance rating at 1,800 TBW versus the SN850X's 1,200 TBW. That said, both are solid performers. If you want to future-proof a bit, you might consider looking at PCIe 5.0 SSDs, even if they’re pricier.
