I'm considering an upgrade for my PC since I have some extra cash. Currently, I have a Ryzen 5 4500 CPU, a GTX 1080 Ti GPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 2TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, a 650W PSU, and an MSI A520M-A PRO motherboard. I'm looking at two options: one is to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D along with a new AM5 motherboard (GIGABYTE B850M DS3H) and some used DDR5 RAM for about 629 euros. The other option is upgrading to an RX 9070 XT and a new PSU (Raijintek CRATOS 850) for around 607 euros. My goal is to play games smoothly at 1440p. What should I prioritize upgrading? I'm in Slovakia, and my budget is around 650 euros. Thanks for any insights!

If you're aiming for smooth 1440p gameplay, I'd suggest upgrading to something like a Ryzen 5800X paired with an RX 9060 XT 16GB. When I made a similar upgrade, I managed to hit 100-120 FPS in Fortnite at higher settings with a Ryzen 5700X and RX 9060 XT. It can be tricky deciding between doing both CPU and GPU upgrades, but this combo might be the sweet spot until you're ready for more changes down the line.

How significant would the bottleneck be with the Ryzen 5 4500 and the RX 9070 XT? I’d rather invest in the best CPU or GPU I can get right now, rather than settling for something in the middle.
