Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building my PC and I'm hitting a snag with my power supply. It's got three 8-pin PCI-e cables and a single pigtail connector. I need to power two 8-pin slots for the CPU and my GPU has three 8-pin slots. Since I really don't want to use that pigtail connector (the GPU manufacturer advises against it), I'm wondering if it's okay to buy an aftermarket 8-pin cable to meet my needs. What do you all think?

You can definitely use that pigtail connector if you really need to, but it's understandable why you'd want to avoid it. If your PSU already has three PCI-e cables, why not just use those instead? Can you not reach your GPU with one of the existing cables?
Since your GPU needs three 8-pin connectors, it's best to stick with the manufacturer's advice and avoid using the pigtail. If it makes you feel more secure, investing in a couple of quality aftermarket 8-pin cables is a good idea. Just make sure they’re compatible with your PSU!
