Hey everyone! I'm about to hit the checkout button on my PC build and I wanted to get a quick sanity check. I've been relying a lot on ChatGPT for compatibility while adding components to my cart. Price isn't a huge concern for me, which is why I've chosen the 5070 Ti over the 9070 XT, but I'm steering clear of the 5080 since the price starts to climb quite a bit. Aesthetics also played a big role in my choices, especially with the AIO cooler. Just a note, I already have a 27" 1080p monitor and I don't need a mouse, mousepad, or keyboard.
Here's what my build includes:
- Case: Montech Air 903 Max
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D AM5 (upgraded from Ryzen 7 9700X)
- GPU: RX 9070 XT 16GB (upgraded from Palit GeForce 5070 Ti 16GB)
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE Wifi7 AM5 Socket
- Memory: Patriot Viper Elite 2x16GB - DDR5 6000Mhz CL30
- Cooler: Corsair Nautilus 360mm AIO
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4
- PSU: Super Flower 850W
- Monitor: Samsung Odyssey 27" 1440p 200Hz IPS
I'm putting this together in South Africa, where GPU and RAM prices are a bit higher than usual. Overall, this build is around $3650 with the 5070 Ti or $3500 with the 9070 XT.

For gaming, I'd definitely recommend the 7800X3D over the 9700X. If you're set on the 9800X3D, it’s a solid choice! I get that you're focusing on aesthetics, but many people at this budget might feel tempted to go for ultrawide or OLED options with their monitors. Just something to think about!

If I switch to the 9800X3D and stick with the 9070 XT, my budget should actually come down a bit from the original build with the 5070 Ti and 9700X. Really appreciate your insight!
