Advice Needed for CPU and GPU Combo

I'm looking for some recommendations on the best CPU and GPU combinations for my setup. Currently, I have a Ryzen 5 8600G installed on an ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-A Gaming WiFi motherboard, all housed in an NZXT H9 Flow case.

I use two monitors: a 27-inch 1440p 240hz and a 32-inch 1440p 240hz. My main focus is on competitive gaming where I'm aiming for around 270 FPS. I'm flexible with dropping to 1080p if that would help me achieve high FPS while maintaining quality graphics. I also enjoy more casual games like ETS2 and Minecraft, where I'd like to run at 1440p on high settings and get at least 120 FPS.

The two CPU and GPU combinations I'm considering are:
1. Ryzen 7 7800X3D with an ASUS 9070 XT (either TUF OC or Prime OC)
2. Ryzen 7 9850X3D with an ASUS 9060 XT Prime OC

I have a budget of around 1200 Euros, but I'd prefer to keep costs lower if I can. Any insights on which combo would better suit my needs?

If you're looking at the 9800X3D, it's generally about 15-20% faster than the 7800X3D. But if there's a significant price gap, I’d recommend going with the 7800X3D paired with the 9070XT. That combo will perform better at higher resolutions compared to the 9850X3D and 9060XT. Also, remember that switching from 1080 to 1440 isn't a perfect scale, which could affect visual quality, so the 9070XT is a solid choice for your needs.

Would you recommend the 9070XT Prime or TUF given the price difference?

I'd lean towards the 7800X3D build as it's just an overall better choice for gaming.

I’d probably say go for the 9070XT and the 7800X3D. The 9800X3D with that GPU would be better, but since you're choosing between those two, stick with the 7800X3D for now!

Definitely the 7800X3D with the 9070 XT. It’s going to offer a much better gaming experience overall.
