I'm trying to upgrade my PC for the first time and I just found out my new RTX 4060 doesn't have a PCIe power connector because it's powered by the motherboard. I was disappointed, but then I came across some cables in my case that look like they could be GPU power cables—specifically, they have 6 slots plus 2. However, they're labeled 'P4', which makes me think they might be CPU cables instead. Am I just overthinking this?

You might need to consider getting a new power supply if yours is only 500w. A lot of modern GPUs require a more powerful PSU, especially if you're planning to push it hard.
A 6+2 pin cable is definitely for powering a GPU. CPU power cables are usually 4+4 pins. I’ve seen the ‘P4’ label before on some cables, but don’t worry, if it's a 6+2, it’s meant for your GPU!
Just because it fits doesn't mean it’ll work right. Make sure you check the specs of your power supply. If you’re unsure, it could help to post a picture of your PSU and the cables you're trying to use.
Out of curiosity, what power supply do you have? Was your computer prebuilt? Knowing the model can help determine if you can use that cable.
