I've been using my Intenso micro SD card for over 10 years without any issues, but today when I put it into a new phone, it prompted me for a password. I've never set one before, and the basic code '0000' isn't working. I'm really confused because only I have accessed this card, and I'm not sure how to fix this problem. Google hasn't been helpful with relevant information, and I'm worried since it says I only have three attempts left before something potentially bad happens. Additionally, this micro SD card doesn't have a lock switch like some other cards do. Any advice would be appreciated!

Make sure it really is asking for a password and not just being read as write-protected. SD cards have a limited lifespan, and sometimes those prompts can be misleading.
Take a close look at the SD card itself for a tiny switch that might lock it. I know older cards sometimes had that feature, even if it's rare these days.
It could be worth checking if the old phone has the unlock code. Just in case!
If all else fails, you could try using a micro to full SD adapter and flipping that adapter to 'lock' before inserting it back in your device. Just a thought, especially if you're okay with losing the contents if it doesn’t work!
Just a heads up, most password requests on micro SD cards are linked to software rather than the card itself. It's possible you set an encryption password on your previous phone, which got saved on the card. If you can remember that passkey, you should be able to unlock it. Otherwise, you might have to format the card and lose your data, so weigh your options carefully!
Try putting the SD card back in your old phone. Sometimes it can recognize the card and let you access the data. If that doesn't work, you could also use a USB adapter with a laptop or PC to see if it works there. My guess is that it was encrypted by your old phone, leading your new phone to think it's password protected. Definitely back up your data if you can, as SD cards can fail over time!
Just a heads-up, if your phone only takes micro-SD, the full-sized adapter won't fit, so you might want to be careful with this method.
