I'm trying to use my new PS5 controller wirelessly with my PC to play games on Steam, but even though it connects via Bluetooth, I'm encountering issues. Sometimes I get a driver error, or it just won't respond during gameplay. Has anyone experienced this, and how can I fix it?

Another solution you could try is adding the game as a non-Steam game in your library and then use Steam Input to get the controller to work. Alternatively, you can use a tool like DS4Windows, which can sometimes help in getting the controller recognized properly.
First, double-check that your Bluetooth driver is up to date. If you're using an Intel or Killer Wi-Fi card, it controls Bluetooth too, so you might need to update that driver. You can do this by hitting Windows key + X, navigating to Device Manager, and looking for your network adapters to find the correct one. Sometimes, brands like Realtek or Qualcomm can have compatibility issues, so keep that in mind.
You might want to consider using a wired connection if possible. I know that's not the ideal solution for wireless gameplay, but sometimes it just works better while you're troubleshooting. It's annoying, but it might help you get through your games while you figure out the Bluetooth issue.
