Why Did My Discord Account Get Suspended After Buying a Used Gaming PC?

I recently bought a second-hand gaming PC and as soon as I connected it, my main Discord account, which has been active since 2016 and hasn't had any issues, got suspended for 'ban evasion.' Everything was fine until I started using this new PC. The Wi-Fi USB dongle I'm using is brand new, and I only have two accounts—both for testing admin settings on my servers, nothing shady at all. I suspect this is a false positive; perhaps the previous owner had a banned account or IP linked to this hardware. Has anyone encountered a similar problem with a used PC? What steps did you take to resolve it? Thanks in advance!

You've got to keep trying, though! It can be frustrating, but persistence might pay off. I know someone who managed to get their issue cleared up after a lot of back-and-forth. Keep sending in your proofs, and you might find someone who can help!

That's true! Sometimes it can just take a bit of luck and getting the right person to see your case.

Honestly, Discord is pretty understaffed and you might just hit a wall here. I've been falsely flagged for various reasons myself and found that reaching out just results in generic bot replies. Unless you have a contact at Discord, it can be really tough to resolve these types of suspensions.

It sounds like your new PC has some hardware IDs that are linked to a banned account. Discord tracks these IDs, so when you logged in, their system assumed you were trying to evade a ban. The best course of action is to send a ticket to Discord with your receipt to show you recently purchased the PC. It’s critical to provide proof to get your account unlinked from the previous owner’s issue.
