I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 7500F paired with an RX 9070 GPU. Although I'm generally satisfied with the overall performance, I've encountered significant stuttering when I enable frame generation in some games, which leaves me wondering if it's really improving smoothness. I've heard that NVIDIA users can play smoothly even with higher MFG settings without much latency. I'm also considering getting a 4K OLED monitor, which would require effective FG/MFG technologies for 4K gaming. I'm debating whether to upgrade to an RTX 5070 Ti for about $400, or a simpler upgrade to an RTX 5070 for $150–$200. If you were in my shoes, what would you recommend?

Honestly, the 5070 isn't even a real upgrade and could be seen as a downgrade. Go for the 5070 Ti for better performance and additional NVIDIA features that are really nice.
Definitely skip the 5070; its 12GB VRAM isn't sufficient for playing newer AAA titles at 4K. You’d be better off with the 5070 Ti instead.
Before making any upgrades, are all your updates in place? Sometimes, frame generation isn’t entirely necessary. $400 is quite a hike for marginal gains, even if the 5070 is cheaper, you wouldn’t be seeing the potential you’re hoping for.
If you're after smoother frame generation, the RTX 5070 Ti is definitely the way to go. People have found that AMD can struggle with frame pacing sometimes.
Thanks! Do you think the $400 price difference is really worth it?
Upgrading to the RTX 5070 isn't really a solid choice, it's either similar to or worse than what you have. The 5070 Ti is a much better option, especially if cash isn't too much of an issue for you.

Yes, everything is updated. I plan to get a 4K monitor soon, so frame generation will be a must.
