Hey everyone! I'm diving into game development and I have a few questions: 1. What are the minimum specs I should look for in a laptop? I'm selling my old gaming PC to focus on learning, even while I'm on the go. 2. My friend is having me do React tutorials in VSCode. Is that a good route if I want to work in video games? I'm self-taught and it's literally only my second day. (I know I won't be making games right away.) 3. How was your learning journey and progression? 4. Is there anything you wish you had been told when you first started?

If your goal is video games, it's strange to start with React since it's not really applicable. Consider starting with Python and Pygame instead. Pygame teaches you the basics of game development and really helps you before you dive into larger engines like Unity or Unreal. Trust me, it gives you a strong foundation before moving on to more complex stuff!

My friend got me into React because he knows it well for his job. Since I’m not going to school, he’s my best resource right now. Would you suggest learning Python or C++ for my game dev goals? Thanks for the recommendation!
