I'm building a new gaming PC and considering whether to invest in 32GB of DDR5 or stick with 32GB of DDR4. I'm most excited to play upcoming AAA games like GTA 6 and Forza Horizon 6. Also, will DDR4 be compatible with an RTX 5070 graphics card?

Honestly, going for DDR4 while upgrading your GPU feels like a step back. If you can swing it, investing in DDR5 might give you much better long-term value, even if it feels pricey now!

If you're looking at an AM4 setup, like the Ryzen 7 5800X, DDR4 should work seamlessly. But if you're open to it, I recommend checking out some bundles with the newer AM5 platform—it's got better support for the latest tech! Just consider pricing in your area.

Bundles aren’t available here, so I have to stick with individual parts.

Going with DDR5 is worth it for future-proofing, especially with demanding games on the horizon. But if you're on a tight budget, DDR4 will still perform well, just make sure it's at least 3200 MHz.

I hear you on budget constraints! DDR5 is great, but if you need to save for a monitor or other gear, DDR4 can still give you decent performance.

The good news is, DDR4 will work fine with your RTX 5070. RAM doesn't connect to the GPU directly, so no worries there! Just check your CPU, as it will dictate which RAM you can use.

I'm looking at getting a Ryzen 7 5800X, does that affect my RAM choice?
