I've been using this old hard drive for a while now, and after installing Crystal Disk Info, it shows a caution warning. The relocated sectors count is at 1,179,792 and there are 40 current pending sectors. Should I consider buying a new HDD?

Definitely back up your data first! After that, I recommend running `chkdsk /f /r` to check for errors and attempt repairs.
Switching to an SSD or an M.2 drive could be a great upgrade, but if you're just using it for backups, an SSD might be overkill.
Having sector problems is a clear sign that your drive is on its way out. You can keep using it for a while, but expect it to worsen over time.
Are those current pending sectors a bigger issue than the relocated ones?

I need an HDD for backups specifically, not for daily use like running OS. It’s mostly for storing data, so SSD isn’t necessary for me.
