I used to have iCloud storage and backed up my messages but nothing transferred to my new phone. One option is to get ahold of any recent iPhone, even a lower model. Sign in with your Apple ID, connect to WiFi, and you can restore from your iCloud backup. After it boots up to the home screen, just leave it plugged in for a few hours and check if your iMessages pop back up. Good luck!
