Which AMD Bundle Should I Choose for My Daughter’s PC Upgrade?

I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my daughter's PC. It's been a while since I've built one, and I want to get her a good bundle. Currently, she's using an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X and a 2080. I'm considering two bundles: one that features the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D with an ASUS B650E motherboard and 16GB of DDR5 RAM, which costs a bit more, and another with the Ryzen 5 7500X3D and an MSI B850M motherboard that's cheaper but the motherboard is listed as random. Should I go for the more expensive bundle for the better motherboard? She plays FPS games like Valorant and Apex Legends daily, so I want to ensure she has a system that won't hold her back. Any thoughts?

I’d definitely go with the 7500X3D bundle, but make sure to grab an extra 16GB RAM stick. That’ll keep her system up-to-date for a long time!

Totally agree! If her case can fit a full ATX motherboard, I’d recommend the 7600X3D bundle for the slightly better CPU and aesthetics.

Thanks for the tip! Just to clarify, you mean to get the 7500X3D and add more RAM, right?

If you’re tight on budget, the extra $50 for the better motherboard isn’t a huge leap in performance. But if you can swing it, it’s worth it for peace of mind. Either way, her current setup will see a significant improvement. Also, consider asking about a 32GB RAM kit; it could be a worthwhile investment!

Thanks! I’ll prioritize that 32GB kit when I go to Microcenter.

I’m not sure why the cheaper bundle says the motherboard is random; it's actually an MSI B850M. The ASUS is definitely a superior motherboard, and the 7600X3D is just a bit better than the 7500X3D. Go with the one that fits best in her case!

I’d personally opt for the 7600X3D bundle! It’ll provide a slight performance edge and a better motherboard overall.

Both bundles are solid choices! Just keep in mind that the 7500X3D is a microATX, which could be a bit smaller if her case is full ATX. The 7600X3D has better chipsets, so I’d check which motherboard you get in-store. It can really vary!

Good point! She’ll be going to college, so a microATX case might be easier to manage.
