I recently got a new PC and it's been about two months, but I've just noticed that the microphone isn't working at all. Whenever I try using it with different headphones, all I get is a static noise. My setup includes an MSI B450M-A Pro VDH Max motherboard, a Ryzen 5 5500 processor, an RTX 3060 with 12GB of RAM, and a Phantom Aurora 5 RGB case. I'm really confused about the issue and wondering if it could be related to the case or the motherboard. It's frustrating because I can't play multiplayer games at the moment. Any help would be appreciated!

It could definitely be an issue with either the case or your motherboard. If you’re using the front panel port for the mic, try switching to the rear I/O port and see if that makes a difference. Also, what type of mic are you using? Is it built into a headset, or is it a standalone mic? Do you have separate cables or just one cable for your headset?

I’ve already tried both the front and back ports with several headsets that have built-in mics, but nothing seems to work. Most of the headsets I have use a single cable, but I also have a splitter that didn’t fix the issue. Does this mean I have to replace the motherboard or case to solve it?
