Looking for Upgrade Suggestions for My Gaming Rig

I'm seeking some advice on upgrading my nearly six-year-old gaming rig. Here's what I'm currently working with:

- **CPU**: Ryzen 9 3950X
- **GPU**: Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Xtreme
- **RAM**: T-Force Delta 32GB 3200MHz DDR4 CL16
- **Motherboard**: X570
- **Storage**: 1TB Samsung 970 Evo

I'm considering switching over to AM5, but the prices for DDR5 are pretty high right now. Instead, I'm thinking about a mid-cycle refresh with either the Ryzen 7 5700X3D or 5800X3D until RAM prices hopefully stabilize. I mainly play FPS games like Valorant, CS:GO, and Rainbow Six Siege, but I also enjoy the occasional Red Dead Redemption 2.

Keep in mind that the 5700X3D and 5800X3D are tough to find and can be quite expensive. You need to weigh whether to splurge on RAM for a new platform or go old-school and spend more on a CPU without the DDR5.

You could look at the 5500X3D too! It's not as powerful, but you can actually find it new, making it a good deal now.

It’s crazy to see those chips priced over $400 nowadays! Maybe hold off on AM5 and go for the 5800X now.

Why not sell your 3950X and swap in a 5800X? You’d probably have a great gaming experience without much hassle. Then, consider switching to AM5 in a couple of years.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm leaning towards the 5700 or 5800X since they seem more affordable than the X3Ds.
