I'm planning to build a new PC and I'm torn between two setups. One option is a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with an RX 9060XT, while the other is a Ryzen 7 5700X with an RTX 4060. I want to know which combination would give me better performance, especially for gaming. Just so you know, I can't go for a Ryzen 7 5700X with the RX 9060XT as that's out of my budget. Any insights would be appreciated!

For gaming, I'd go with the 5600X and the RX 9060XT combo. The difference in gaming performance between the 5600X and 5700X is minor, often just a few FPS. Plus, the 9060XT generally performs better than the 4060 in gaming scenarios, especially at 1080p. If you ever think about streaming, keep in mind that the 4060 has some solid encoding capabilities, too!
Just a heads up, the RX 9060XT is much faster than the RTX 4060; you'll want to consider that when making your choice. Keep in mind though, prices are pretty steep right now so you might be spending a lot on that 8GB GPU. It's a tough market!
Yeah, GPU prices are crazy these days. I feel you!
The 5600X is a solid choice, and while the RX 9060XT 8GB is decent, have you thought about getting the 16GB version? It can handle higher texture settings in some games much better, though I get that it's pricier, especially with current market rates.
Unfortunately, the 16GB version is way out of my budget right now. It's about 40% more here.
If gaming is your main focus, definitely lean towards the Ryzen 5 5600X with the RX 9060XT. The performance boost from the 5700X won't really translate into much better frame rates in most games, and the 9060XT will offer a significant edge over the 4060, especially at 1080p. But if you're considering productivity tasks, the 5700X paired with the RTX 4060 might be better!
That makes sense! I'll prioritize gaming performance then.

Oh, good point! I didn't realize that about the 4060.
