Why Are My Laptop Speakers Crackling When Charging?

I've had my laptop since Christmas, and I've noticed that the speakers crackle a lot while I'm watching videos, but only when the battery is charging. As soon as I unplug the charger, the crackling stops. This has been happening since day one. What could be causing this issue?

It sounds like the electromagnetic fields from charging might be causing interference with your speakers. The power supply can create small EM fields, and with the speakers close by, it could be inducing voltage that makes them crackle. Just a thought!

If it's crackling, that's definitely not normal! I'd recommend reaching out to the warranty service. It's better to get it checked out before any more time passes.

There are a few potential culprits for that crackle:

1. A poor-quality or faulty power supply
2. The laptop could have some build quality issues
3. Bad audio drivers could be at fault (I've faced this myself!)
4. It might be interference from the charging cable.

Are you sure it's the speakers making the noise and not the fan?

This might be a sign of a bad power supply. Whatever the cause, that crackling is not typical laptop behavior. Definitely contact tech support before your warranty runs out.
