I recently purchased an RX 9060XT, but my current CPU (an i5-10400F) is really bottlenecking the performance. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to avoid any performance issues. Most recommendations I've found for good, non-bottlenecking CPUs are DDR5, but since I want to stick with my fairly new 2666MHz 32GB DDR4 RAM, I'd like some advice on what to get.
Could anyone suggest a good CPU and a compatible motherboard that will work well together? Also, I'm planning on upgrading my power supply and case, so I'm not worried about those components. I prefer for any potential bottleneck to come from the CPU, especially since most of the games I play are more CPU-intensive. If you're okay with a bit of price fluctuation, the i5-14600K will give you the best performance. However, the Ryzen 5600X is likely a better value and still pairs well with your setup. Consider the AMD Ryzen 5500X3D. It performs really well with slower RAM compared to Intel CPUs, and you might find it at a decent price on sites like Aliexpress. Just look for a used B550 motherboard to go with it!
