Best CPU Air Cooler for Upgrading to Higher TDP

Hey everyone! I'm currently using a Veetro V5 cooler for my 5600x setup, which works pretty well since it has a 65w TDP. However, I'm planning to upgrade my PC soon, potentially to an AM5 setup. I'm concerned that my current cooler might not cut it if I go for a CPU like the 7700x, which has a 105w TDP.

I've been looking at options like the Peerless Assassin 120, but I've seen photos where it obscures the RAM, and I really want to keep the visibility of my RGB RAM. Ideally, I want a single tower cooler that's powerful, in white, and doesn't have an LCD display. Are there any coolers that fit these criteria and offer good value? I've considered the Burst Assassin 120 Vision (which has an LCD) and the Ultra 120 Extreme Snow REV.5. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you’re looking for other CPU options, the Ryzen 9700X is another solid choice with a 65W TDP!

The Burst and Ultra 120 are definitely up for handling a 7700x. Plus, Thermalright has some great AIO options that won't cover your RAM, and they usually run between $40-60 for good efficiency. Just keep in mind the size and placement to avoid leaks if you're worried about that.

You should check out the Arctic Freezer 36. It's a single tower with dual fans that won't block your RAM and performs really well for the price!

I was also eyeing the Peerless Assassin 120, but just a heads up: it only blocks RAM visibility if you use both fans. I have it set up with just the middle fan, and I can see all my RAM sticks perfectly. Plus, it cools way better than a lot of single towers!

That’s a solid tip! I do the same with my NH-D15 and it handles high loads without any issue.

You might want to consider just installing the fan on the back for better RAM clearance. It's a simple tweak that might work for you!
