Experiencing Sudden Power Shutdowns with My Gaming PC: Need Help!

I'm dealing with some really annoying sudden shutdowns on my gaming rig, where it turns off completely without any warning, like the power was just yanked out. This happens particularly when I'm playing certain games. Here's my setup:

- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- **Motherboard**: MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI (Bios updated)
- **GPU**: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GAMING OC 16GB
- **RAM**: ADATA XPG Lancer Blade 32GB (5600MHz)
- **PSU**: MSI MPG A850G PCIE5 (850W, ATX 3.0, with native 12V-2x6 cable)

So far, the shutdowns have occurred during specific scenarios:
- In **Minecraft with Distant Horizons mod**, my PC shuts down almost immediately, usually within the first five minutes.
- When playing **Black Myth: Wukong**, it shuts off randomly, though I sometimes play for hours without an issue.
- It happened once while playing **Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2**.

The Event Viewer always shows that it's a **Kernel-Power Event ID 41** with bugcheck code 0.

I've tried a handful of fixes, including BIOS updates, reseating power cables, various settings changes in BIOS, and even undervolting the GPU, but I've still had no luck. During some tests, I've seen the +12V voltage dip slightly, but nothing major. I'm starting to wonder if the PSU might not be handling transient spikes well or if there's an issue with the GPU itself. Before I think about returning the GPU or upgrading to a 1000W PSU, I'm hoping to find some help or suggestions from anyone who might have experienced something similar!

Back in the day, I faced something similar when using an i9 with a 3060 Ti. Ended up being faulty RAM! How did I figure it out? I used a RAM testing tool that caught the issues, but it did take some time to reveal itself. Definitely keep that possibility in mind!

How did you determine that it was the RAM causing the issue?

I was grappling with a similar situation, and it turned out to be my motherboard. I attempted a BIOS flash, cleared the CMOS, and re-flashed the latest BIOS, which temporarily fixed the problem, but it eventually returned. Same error messages and only specific games triggered it. I switched to a different motherboard and haven’t had any issues since. You might want to look into that if you can!

I had a similar problem recently, and it turned out to be a bad driver. I know it sounds odd since all my drivers seemed fine, but I used a crash data checking tool that pinpointed a faulty Wi-Fi driver. It might be worth checking your drivers closely just in case! Let me know if you want the name of the tool I found.

I have an MSI RTX 5070 Ti and a 7700X and I've faced similar shutdowns, although mine would freeze first instead of shutting off completely. It typically occurred playing Assassin's Creed games. I tried undervolting and tweaking various settings, but those games would still crash on me. It could be your RAM or PSU at fault, just some food for thought!

Have you given the OCCT '3D Adaptive' or 'Variable Mode' tests a shot? They could handle varying power draws a bit better compared to the standard tests you might be using. It might give you better insight into what’s causing the shutdowns.

I did try some extreme load tests, but there were no errors or shutdowns during those.
