Advice for Building a High-Performance Gaming PC Under $2200

I'm gearing up to build my first gaming PC and I want to stick to a budget of around $2200. My goal is to play modern games at around 240fps, focusing on demanding titles at max settings. I'm not very experienced with PC components, so I'm looking for some solid recommendations on parts and a balanced build that offers the best bang for my buck. Any ideas or example builds would be super helpful, thanks!

I recently picked up a Prebuilt at MicroCenter for about $1800. It features a powerful 9800X3D CPU and a RX 9070 XT. I've been playing Crimson Desert at ultra settings, and I easily get over 180fps, so that might inspire your build!

I usually suggest spending around 40% of your budget on the GPU. For your budget, consider the RTX 5070 Ti—it'll give you great performance without overspending. You can check out this sample build I made for about $1800. It features a highly rated 18-core CPU setup, solid cooling, and a good mix of power components. You’d really get a good value here!

Yeah, that build looks solid! The 5070 Ti really stands out for performance, and the balance in your parts should serve well for future upgrades too.

Just a heads-up: buying used components can save you quite a bit of cash, allowing you to stretch your budget further. It’s worth checking local listings or dedicated PC hardware forums!

To hit 240fps in the latest games, you might need some seriously high-end components. Just keep in mind that even with top-tier parts like a 9850X3D and an RTX 5090, you're looking at a price tag over $4000. It might be more worthwhile to focus on which games you want to play, as some can still run very well on mid-range setups for much less. Just clarify your gaming needs a bit more!
