I'm considering upgrading my current CPU from the i9-10900k to the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D to enhance my gaming experience. I have an RTX 4070ti and I game on a 1440p OLED monitor. My primary goal is to boost my frame rates and eliminate any potential bottlenecks. If I decide to go ahead with the upgrade, I'll also need a new motherboard—any recommendations for one that pairs well with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D? Thanks!

If your CPU is bottlenecking your performance in those games, then definitely consider the upgrade. Just keep in mind it will be a bit pricey since you'll have to invest in DDR5 RAM and a compatible motherboard. The MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max is a great choice, but it's on the expensive side. Do you have a budget you’re working with?
It really depends on the games you play. Certain titles might not need the upgrade as much as others. What games are you focusing on?
I'm mainly into Warzone, Battlefield, and I'm looking to get into Crimson Desert, GTA5, and Monster Hunter World.
If you're sitting on 32GB of DDR4 RAM, you might want to consider getting the Intel 14600K/F and pairing it with an MSI PRO B760-P DDR4 motherboard instead. It'll save you some cash without sacrificing much performance.
That actually sounds like a solid plan since I have 64GB of DDR4 RAM already. The DDR5 costs are just too high right now. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, I figured it would be pricey. I can probably stretch to about $700 max, but after looking at DDR5 prices, I might need to hold off for a bit. MSI is my go-to brand, so I’ll keep that motherboard in mind. Thanks!
