My Desktop Can’t Connect to the Internet – Any Ideas?

I've been having trouble getting my desktop to connect to the internet, even though all other devices on the network are working just fine. I ran the troubleshooter, and it said that my computer seems properly configured, but it can't reach the device or resource at www.microsoft.com. I've already tried a few solutions, including running these commands: "ipconfig /flushdns", "ipconfig /registerdns", "ipconfig /release", "ipconfig /renew", and "netsh winsock reset". After doing all that, I restarted my computer, but it's still not connecting. By the way, I found out that VPNs can sometimes cause issues, but I'm not using one. Any help would be appreciated!

What operating system are you on? Is it Windows 10 or 11? Are you using a wired connection or WiFi? Let's backtrack a bit and check the basics. Make sure all your cables are connected properly. If you're on WiFi, what device are you using to connect? Switching between wired and wireless might help troubleshoot further.

I'm on Windows 10 and my PC can't upgrade to Windows 11. I tried both wired and wireless connections and even restarted the router, but it didn’t help.

You might want to try changing your DNS settings manually. Set it to 8.8.8.8 and see if that helps. If that doesn’t work, you could also go into Device Manager, delete your network devices, and then reboot your computer so Windows reinstalls the drivers automatically.

I did both of those things, but it still isn't connecting. The DNS did change to 8.8.8.8, but no luck yet.
