Hey folks! I recently made the switch from an iPhone 13 to a 16. I upgraded because the charging port on my old phone was wobbly, and the touchscreen had stopped working. After going through my carrier to activate the new phone, they advised me to go to icloud.com to remove my old iPhone from Find My iPhone before trading it in. I logged in and erased the iPhone 13, but it's still showing up in Find My with a red trash icon, saying it will delete in 30 days. Now my old phone is stuck in Activation Lock mode, showing that it can only be activated by my email address, which is the same one I use, but I can't unlock the device because of the touchscreen issue. I reached out to Verizon, and they said I need to remove the Activation Lock, while Apple informed me that removing it from Find My iPhone should do the trick. However, that didn't work, and the lock is still active. I'm really anxious about waiting for 30 days to unlock it. I'm also worried about trying recovery mode since my charging port is loose, and I'm afraid I won't be able to connect it properly. Has anyone experienced this before, and is there a way to bypass the wait?

If you’re sure that your device has been removed from Find My iPhone, you might want to try putting it into DFU mode. That can sometimes help with Activation Lock issues. Just a heads up, though—make sure your charging port can handle it.
Yeah, I'm really worried about the port. I haven’t tried recovery mode yet because I’m nervous it might mess things up with how the touchscreen is acting. I guess it’s worth a try now if it might help!
