What are the best music player apps for local playback?

Hey everyone! I'm on the lookout for some solid music player apps that would be perfect for my needs. I'm planning to set up a new PC around July-August that will run CachyOS, and I really want to listen to my music locally rather than relying on streaming services.

I'm looking for an app that lets me customize the appearance of songs, like changing cover art or icons. Additionally, I want to be able to include the same song in multiple playlists, keep it simple to use, and have a nice-looking interface. Basically, I just want to listen to my own playlists without any hassle while making it look good.

I'd really appreciate your recommendations for any apps that fit the bill. Thanks a bunch!

Check out Tauon! It's pretty clean and offers good features for local music. You can find it on GitHub.

Have you looked into Fooyin? It's similar to foobar2000 on Windows. It might take a bit of tinkering to set up, but once you get it going, it offers an awesome experience.

I've heard Fooyin is great once it's configured right! Definitely worth a shot.
