My PC won’t restart without power cycling the PSU, any fixes?

I'm having a frustrating issue where my PC won't restart normally. No matter if I shut it down using the power button, the restart button, or through Windows, it turns off but won't power back on unless I flip the switch on the PSU off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on and hit the power button. How can I fix this problem? Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, PRO B850-P Motherboard, NVIDIA 5070, and a CORSAIR 850w PSU. Let me know if you need more details, thanks!

This might be a motherboard issue or something funky with the PSU. Have you checked if your BIOS is up to date? That can often fix strange power issues.

I had something similar happen to me, and it turned out to be an external hard drive that was shorting out my system. The power button would light up for a second but then turn off. I replaced the USB cable for that drive, and it seems to have solved the problem. It might be worth checking your peripherals!
