Suggestions for Replacing a Broken Motherboard

I'm refurbishing my old gaming PC, which has an i5-6500 processor, a Gigabyte H110M motherboard, a GTX 970 graphics card, and DDR4-2133 RAM. Right now, I'm getting power and lights, but there's no picture, which leads me to believe the motherboard is dead. I'm looking to keep the replacement under $150, and I'm considering the MSI Z270 as a potential option. However, I'm open to suggestions for other motherboards that might be cheaper or better. I've had issues with Gigabyte before and am a bit hesitant to go back to that brand. Any advice?

Before you decide on a new motherboard, did you check if your GPU is properly connected? Sometimes, the issue could be as simple as a loose video cable or a GPU that isn't working. Make sure everything is snug, and if it's possible, try booting without the GPU installed just to see if you get any video output from the onboard graphics (if your CPU has them). It can help narrow down where the problem lies.

If you're looking for alternatives, have you checked out the ASRock H270 Pro4? It's usually around the same price range and has good reviews. Just double-check compatibility with your CPU first. Also, if you can find used options, that could stretch your budget a bit more!
