Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I recently tried to upgrade my gaming PC and ran into some serious issues. Here's my old setup:
- CPU: Intel 12400F
- Motherboard: H610M-A D4
- GPU: EVGA RTX 3060
- RAM: Crucial DDR4 Pro (2x32)
- Storage: PNY Nvme M2 1TB
- Network: ASUS AX3000
- PSU: EVGA 600W 80+
For the upgrade, I swapped in a Sapphire Pulse Radeon 9070, added a SATA Toshiba 3TB, and upgraded to an ASUS 750W bronze power supply. I followed all the online guides to the letter and took great care during the installation. My old parts are now in my girlfriend's PC, and they work perfectly.
Here's the issue I'm facing:
The PC initially booted up fine, but I got no signal to the monitor. After troubleshooting, the PC attempts to boot but powers off. I've tried checking every HDMI and DisplayPort output, tested the RAM in various configurations, and checked all cables multiple times without any luck. I even replaced the CMOS battery.
I went back to the old GPU, which gave me a signal but couldn't recognize my keyboard. After that point, the system wouldn't even power on properly anymore. I updated to a new motherboard (B760-PLUS D4) and tried again with the 9070 in the PCIe Gen 5 slot, but still no picture. The RTX 3060 works in the PCIe Gen 4 slot, but Windows doesn't detect the Radeon 9070 at all and the fans aren't spinning. I checked BIOS (which I updated) and there's no sign of the 9070. If your BIOS isn't detecting the Radeon 9070, it could point to an issue with the card itself. Have you tried testing it in your girlfriend's PC? That could help rule out if the card is faulty or not.
Yes, I waited a while but the same thing happened: the fans spin but there's no picture. Strange that the BIOS doesn't even show the PCIe Gen 5 slot!
