Help! My WiFi stopped working after my computer’s cleaning – any fixes?

Hey everyone, I had a technician clean my computer yesterday, which included the GPU, CPU, and fans. He also updated some drivers, and now my WiFi won't work at all. It either can't find any networks or the connection is super weak—like I did a speed test and got only 3mb/s! It's practically impossible to open emails or browse the web, and I get disconnected every 30 seconds. I've had WiFi issues with this PC before, but it was manageable. Now it's just unusable. I've tried disabling and enabling the network card, updating it, and even rebooting the router, but nothing helps. Other devices connect fine, so I'm stumped. Any advice on how I could fix this myself before deciding to take it back to the technician?

I’d suggest searching for the correct drivers specific to your network card and reinstall them. Sometimes after cleaning, the drivers can get messed up or uninstalled. That might fix the problem!

Is this a laptop or a desktop? Sometimes the WiFi issues can be related to hardware differences. If it’s a desktop, that might affect things differently than with a laptop. Let me know!

It's a desktop.

You might want to just take it back to the technician. Since he was the one who cleaned it and updated drivers, he should be able to help you sort out the WiFi issue. It could be something he accidentally changed when he was working on it.

I’m definitely thinking of calling him again. But I’d like to see if there’s something simple I can try in the meantime.
