I've recently set up a new monitor alongside my smaller portable one, which is also 1920x1080. I'm experiencing an issue where, while playing games like Elden Ring in windowed borderless mode, the new monitor goes black for about a second whenever I click away or switch to my other monitor. After the black screen, it shows a message indicating what display is being used as if I switched back. This hasn't happened to me before, so I'm looking for some guidance on how to fix this. Have you tried matching the resolution and refresh rate of the game with your monitors' settings? Sometimes, mismatched settings can cause those black screens when switching. If you're unsure about the frequency, you might want to check your display settings directly in your operating system to see what they are set to. Let me know if that helps!
I had a similar problem before. Adjusting the refresh rate in the Windows display settings fixed it for me. You might want to give that a shot if GamerGeek88's suggestion doesn't work!
