Hey everyone! I'm new here and really need some guidance for my programming fundamentals class. I'm currently in college, studying digital design for interactive media over in Mexico, but I've spent most of my life in the U.S., so my Spanish isn't the best, especially with technical terms. I'm completely new to programming and math isn't my strong suit either.
We're using a software called Pseint to learn different programming concepts like loops: for, repeat, and do while. I get the theory behind these loops, but I'm having a tough time when it comes to applying them to solve mathematical problems.
I'd love to hear from anyone with experience on how I can improve my programming skills. Are there beginner-friendly videos I can watch? Other programs that are helpful? What should I be focusing on to really grasp problem-solving in programming? That's where I'm finding it challenging. Any tips would be appreciated!

Getting hands-on is key! While videos can be useful, they sometimes lead to what’s called passive learning. Instead, try writing some simple code yourself. Engage with your code and use tools to check your work; this will help solidify your understanding. Start smaller with easier problems, and gradually challenge yourself! Don't worry too much; it’s all part of the learning curve.
It sounds like you're really looking to strengthen your fundamentals, which is what your class is all about. Start with simpler problems and focus on following the structure given by your professor. Sometimes just doing the exercises without aiming for perfection can help clarify things. You don't have to understand everything right away; just take it step by step and wait for more insights in lectures.
