Does Streaming on My Phone Affect Hotspot Data Usage?

I'm using my phone's hotspot to connect my PlayStation for online gaming, and at the same time, I'm streaming a baseball game on my phone. I'm curious if the streaming will impact the data usage on the hotspot. I understand it might slow down the PlayStation's connection, but I'm primarily concerned about how it will affect my hotspot data consumption.

I've had a similar experience! With T-Mobile, I get notified once I hit my limit, and my computer gets throttled until I restart it. Also, I've never tried tethering but will give it a shot, thanks for the tip!

It can vary depending on your carrier's policies. For me, I get unlimited cellular data but only 40GB for hotspot. Some carriers track usage differently, so it's worth checking. Also, if you can tether your phone directly to your PlayStation, that might let you use unlimited data instead. Just a thought!

No, it shouldn't affect your hotspot data usage because the data for your phone and the data for devices using the hotspot are counted separately.
