Can I find a better PC for under $2,000?

I've just gotten approval from my VP to spend a maximum of $2,000 on a new PC to replace my bulky workstation laptop. I need to buy locally, and there are Best Buy and Micro Center nearby. Is there a better option out there than the one I found? Here's the link to the product I'm considering: https://www.microcenter.com/product/698930/powerspec-g457-gaming-pc

What kind of work will you be doing on the PC? That really impacts what you need.

It's for work! I'm using it for heavy BIM tasks, plus VR and rendering. I often run software like Enscape, Unity, and 3ds Max. Programs like Revit, ACC, and Navisworks can be pretty demanding with VRAM and RAM usage.

It really depends on your workload. If you're doing heavy tasks, I spotted an Alienware build with an i9 processor for exactly $2,000. But you might want to check how it compares in terms of RAM and cooling options.

I noticed the RAM is 5200 instead of 6000, plus it has a 240mm cooler versus a 360mm. Do you think the i9 is worth it over the i7 with those differences?
