What Motherboard Upgrade Should I Consider for Better Video Editing?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for advice on upgrading my PC for more demanding video editing tasks. Currently, I have an ASUSTEK TUF B 360M-PLUS Gaming S motherboard, an Intel Core i7-8700 CPU, an NVidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB, and 16GB of RAM. I've been pretty happy working with it for audio recording, but as my video editing workload increases, I feel the need for more power. I'm planning to max out my RAM first, but I'm wondering if I should also upgrade my motherboard to install a more powerful CPU. My current motherboard can take an Intel Core i7-9700, but I've read that this wouldn't be a significant upgrade. I want to future-proof my setup, so I'm considering a new Micro ATX motherboard. Can I simply swap it out for another Micro ATX board? What other features should I consider when shopping for a new motherboard?

To keep your current DDR4 RAM, I’d suggest looking for a motherboard that supports Intel's 12th to 14th series processors or AMD's Ryzen 5000 series. Staying with Micro ATX is a safe bet, and it should fit just fine!

I was eyeing this board for that reason: https://www.newegg.com/asus-b760m-ayw-wifi-d4-ii-micro-atx-motherboard-intel-b760-lga-1700/p/N82E16813119744
