I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core Processor, paired with an RTX 3080 and 32GB of RAM. I'm wondering if it's necessary to upgrade my CPU at this point or if my current setup is sufficient for gaming and general use. What do you all think?

You really don't need to upgrade! For gaming, even a CPU like the 5800X is still more than capable. If you’re playing at 4K, your GPU will likely be the bottleneck, not your current CPU.
Just stick with what you have for now. Wait for the big leaps in tech to happen before you decide to upgrade again; it’s not worth it otherwise.
The best CPU you could get now would be the 9950X3D. But honestly, unless you're pushing really high settings and need top-tier performance, your 7700X should serve you well.
